Role Description
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable and qualified APS-MCC Instructor to join our team at EmPower Flight.
This is a part-time, contract role offering flexibility by allowing instructors to choose their working days.
As an APS-MCC Instructor, you will play a pivotal role in training future pilots, helping them acquire the skills and knowledge required to excel in multi-crew cockpit environments and embrace sustainable aviation practices.
Qualifications and Requirements

The following qualifications, experience, and knowledge are essential for this role:
● Hold or have held a CPL (A), MPL (A) or ATPL (A) pilot licence.
● Have completed at least 1,500 hours of flying experience as a pilot in multi-pilot operations, of which at least 350 hours in the appropriate aircraft category.
● A UK CAA or EASA instructor qualification, such as TRI (Type Rating Instructor),
CRI (Class Rating Instructor), FI (Flight Instructor), or MCCI (Multi Crew Cooperation Instructor).
● Familiarity and understanding of facilitative training techniques.
● Experience of delivering successful training using facilitative techniques.
● Understanding of human factors theory and the ability to relate it to the pragmatism of best practice behaviour in a multi-crew environment.
● Demonstrable knowledge of the Pilot Competency framework and its application.
● Right to live and work in the UK.
The following attributes are highly desirable for the role:
● A320, B737 or B777 experience.
● Role model professional standards.
● Instructing experience with APS-MCC training or a similar program.
● Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
● Understanding of sustainable operational practices.
● Commitment to EmPower’s values and sustainability goals.
● Ability to work collaboratively and foster a positive learning environment.
Work Hours
This is a part-time contract position with flexible day working and based near Heathrow airport. Instructors select their preferred workdays that fit into our APS-MCC courses.
Each day at work will typically be an 8 hour working period with suitable breaks; pre-work preparation and post-detail online write-ups will be required.
The APS-MCC Course is 14 days; 4 of ground training and 10 simulator details. It is envisaged the course will probably have a schedule of 3 or 4 days on, and 2 days off.
Individual instructors will be able to choose their preferred work days.
