Comments
When you send us your personal data, you agree to the provisions of this policy.
When visitors send us electronic mail, use our contact form, or leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, any data within, or attached to, the electronic mail, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of a comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Who we share your data with

How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
Your data when you apply work with us
If you send us personal data for the purpose of applying for a role or position as a contractor or employee within the EmpowerFlight group of companies, we will retain that information for a period of time, depending on the outcome of your application. For this purpose, relevant information includes personal data, curriculum vitae information, right to live and work information, personal and professional references including disclosure and barring checks, and any other information required by us or other relevant agencies specific to the application and employment process for the role(s) being applied for.
If you are unsuccessful in your application, we will retain your information for a period of one (1) year after the date of notification of being unsuccessful. If we have a lawful reason or requirement for doing so, we will retain your information for a longer period than one (1) year, for example an employment tribunal or discrimination claim. In this case we will write to you.
If you are successful in your application, we will retain your personal data, pay and tax records and right to live an work data for the entire period of your engagement with us. From the date of termination of employment or contract with us, we will retain the following data for the following minimum periods: Pay and tax records six (6) years. Personal data one (1) year. Right to live and work information two (2) years. If we have a lawful reason or requirement for doing so, we will retain your information for a longer period, for example an employment tribunal or discrimination claim. In this case we will write to you.
Your data when you apply to use our services
If you send us personal data for the purpose of purchasing our goods or services as a customer, or applying for a position on a training course as a delegate, student or trainee, provided by any of the EmpowerFlight group of companies, we will retain your relevant information for a period of time.
In this agreement:

“Student”, “Delegate”, “Trainee”, and “Customer” shall each refer to and mean the same individual or entity receiving or participating in any training, educational service, or related activity provided by the EmpowerFlight group of companies. These terms may be used interchangeably throughout this policy without altering the intended meaning.
Relevant information includes personal data, curriculum vitae information, right to live, work or study information, personal and professional references including disclosure and barring checks, flying hours and licence information, training records, performance and discipline reports, course test results, professional examination results, certificates and instructor reports. We will also retain any other information required by us or other relevant agencies specific to your application to use our services or to provide references to future employers. This may include personal data, including payment information if required for the provision of our services.
What rights you have over your data
If you have sent us your personal data, or if you have an account on this or one of our sites managed by the EmpowerFlight group of companies, including learning management and recording systems, our employee and/or customer management systems, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you by emailing he***@***********ht.aero.
We may be legally required to maintain records that contain data about you. These conditions are specified above.
